CREDENTIAL APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS Media and publicists may apply for credentials now through May 29th for the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS. The rules and procedures for this show have changed. Please carefully review the following information before applying for credentials. AREAS OF ACCESS RED CARPET: The 2009 CMT Music Awards will again feature a star-studded red carpet to kick off the evening’s festivities. CMT invites national and local media to cover the red carpet, which runs before the live show from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 16. ***The red carpet is the only opportunity media will have to obtain direct interviews with talent.*** MEDIA LOUNGE: For the first time, CMT will not host a traditional awards show press room, but instead, media are invited to work in a designated area that will allow them to watch the show, live blog, file stories and download images. This area will not provide opportunities for direct interviews with talent, still photographer or electronic b-roll footage. Food and beverages will be provided. PRESS SEATS: Media interested in attending the live show are invited to sit in a special reserved media section at the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS, pending ticket availability. PHOTO SEATS: CMT has limited space for photographers at the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS in the house. For those media we are unable to accommodate, CMT will post free, downloadable images at a www.cmtmusicawardspress.com. CMT attempts to credential as many legitimate media outlets as space will allow. However, we may not be able to grant everyone’s request. Consideration for media credentials is based upon a number of factors, including previous coverage of the CMT MUSIC AWARDS and events leading up to the live telecast.
